14 DAYS/13 NIGHTS MT KENYA HIKE – SIRIMON NAROMORU ROUTE/SAMBURU/NAKURU/MASAI MARA/NAIVASHA/AMBOSELI

Day 1: Jomo Kenyatta International Airport – Nanyuki


On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our representative and proceed on to Nanyuki arriving in time for lunch in your lodge/camp. Nanyuki is a town in central Kenya. It's known as a gateway to Mount Kenya and the wilderness of Mount Kenya National Park. The town is currently mult-cultural and is the market Centre for farms, ranches, game parks and the wildlife conservancies in the region. It's also the base for the people seeking to climb Mount Kenya, the most famous landmark in the country.  Afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your Lodge/Camp. (Full Board)



Day 2: Nanyuki – Mount Kenya

After breakfast in your lodge/Camp drive from Nanyuki to Sirimon gate for about 45 minutes (2650m) this point is where the trek starts. Walk to the first camp – Old Moses 9kms (3 hrs) 3300m. Dinner and overnight at Old Moses Camp. (Full Board)


 


Day 3:

After breakfast at around 8.00 am, start our hike to the second camp – Shiptons Camp which is takes 6 – 7 hours (14kms) . You will have picnic lunches enroute. Arrive at your Camp at around 4.00 pm (4200m. Dinner and overnight. (Full Board)


 


Day 4: 

This is the summit day, you will wake up at 3.00am, have tea and snacks and we try to hike to our target point Lenana 4985m for about 3 hrs. After having fun at the top descend to Mackinders Camp for breakfast and thereafter continue down to Met Station (3470M). Lunch on the way down. Dinner and overnight at your Camp. (Full Board)

 


Day 5:

After breakfast at around 8.00am, descend down to Narumoru Gate for about 3 hours (10Kms) and Exit. You will connect with your vehicle to Samburu Game Reserve. , arriving in time for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon game drive. The reserve is reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx (Also referred as Samburu Special). Dinner and overnight at your Camp/Lodge. (Full Board)


Day 6:Samburu Game Reserve


Morning and late afternoon game drive in the reserve. All meals and overnight at your Camp/Lodge. (Full Board)


Day 7: Samburu Game Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park


After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stop at the Equator Line and the Thompsons Falls . You will arrive at your lodge for lunch. Afternoon safari game drive in the park. The park is ideal for bird watching. The Park is Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary and an important Sanctuary for Rhino. Both Black and White Rhino are found here, and are often seen resting under acacias by the Lake shore. There are huge herds of waterbuck, zebra, buffalo, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe and more. This is one of your best chances of seeing Leopard in Kenya, and there are several large prides of Lion. Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at your Camp/Lodge. (Full Board)



Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park _ Masai Mara Game Reserve


After breakfast depart for Masai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon safari game drive viewing in the reserve. This is one of the most popular tourism destinations in Kenya- Africa. The reserve is located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 birds species recorded on the reserve. The Mara is also home to the richest concentration of wildlife, including the "Big Five" (elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), zebras, antelope, gnus, Oribis, hyenas, giraffes, warthogs, gazelles, hartebeests, hippos, crocodiles and others. The park has the largest concentration of African lions, including the black-maned lion. Dinner and overnight at your Camp/Lodge. (Full board)



Day 9 & 10: Masai Mara Game Reserve


Early morning and late afternoon game drives in this reserve, with spectacular sceneries and diverse wildlife, mid-morning and afternoon relaxing at the lodge or at the pool. Option of a full-day game drive with picnic lunches can be arranged. All meals and overnight at your Camp/Lodge. Day 11: Masai Mara Game Reserve - Naivasha


After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha arriving for lunch at your lodge. Afternoon boat ride and walk to the Crescent Island. Lake Naivasha is a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus. The lake is almost 13 km across, but its waters are shallow with an average depth of five metres. It is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name derives from the local Maasai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms that can arise. The lake is home to a variety of types of wildlife including over 400 different species of birds and a sizeable population of hippos. The fish community in the lake has been highly variable over time, influenced by changes in climate, fishing efforts and the introduction of invasive species. Dinner and overnight at your Camp/Lodge.
